What am I reading these days - Contd.?
--------------
Well not surpirisingly the same stuff - Man the Unknown (pathetically so).And now having endured it for so so long i have decided to be proactive about it and finish. To be fair the book is not bad at all, its just the longwindedness that sets it apart from a nice gripping types and makes reading it more like a attending a lecture which though very interesting is still preachy.
That apart portions of the book are actually gripping especially the ones where the author starts to dip into the actual working of some sytem of the body with an editing style reminiscent of a tight chase scene. Especially well written are parts that describe the adaptive qualities of the body and the manner in which science still tends to think of it as a divisible entity.
Now that my work days normally end with a long bus ride back home with nothing much to do except stare at the fellow traffic jammers (pun intended) and with the radio blaring nothing other than the mind numbing Himesh tunes, i can realistically hope to get over with this book within the quarter.
And besides i have another one lined up behind it. Its called "Blink". More on that when we get there. Till then Bon Voyage.
